Brush Power Sign-Up!

Here, you can sign up your character to have them become a Brush God temporarily, and to have the power permanently!

In terms of how effective your character is at using the power after the battle, they will be able to use it somewhat decently, but they have a very limited access to "divine ink", which is how to draw the stroke necessary to create a divine effect. It will never really be as powerful as Amaterasu, obviously, but it's still something that can be used in or outside of battle. (Its less reliable usage would make it more ideal for outside of battle, however.) The powers will be strongest during the event, and will become significantly weaker afterwards, but they can be trained up with time as they are in Vatheon.

Here is a list of the Brush Techniques:

Power Slash: Draw a straight line. A slash is made along that line, slicing whatever was drawn on in half (trees, boulders, straw dummies, you name it). Does not cut people in half but does deal some blunt damage.
Cherry Bomb: Draw a circle with a dash through the top. A fireworks-like bomb appears, and explodes with surprising force. Can be used to bust open walls, or to get a person's ears ringing and their clothes a little sooty.
Inferno: Draw a lemniscate, or draw a line between an open source of flame and your target. With the former, a ball of fire erupts and scalds everything but yourself (once a day). With the latter, the fire moves along the path you have drawn (at any time).
Thunder Storm: Draw a thunder bolt, or draw a line between an open source of electricity and your target. With the former, lightning rains down on the field and strikes everything within the immediate vicinity (once a day). With the latter, the lightning moves along the path you have drawn (at any time).
Blizzard: Draw a snowflake (draw an X and then a third line down the middle), or draw a line between an open source of ice and your target. With the former, shards of ice form and slice down on the target (once a day). With the latter, the ice moves along the path you have drawn (at any time).
Greensprout: Has several different techniques - inactive, causes flowers to bloom when running at full speed.
Bloom: Draw a circle around a bud or closed shell, draw a circle around a dead tree, or fill in a patch on the ground where there is dead grass. The bud/shell will open, the tree will bloom, and flowers will grow, respectively. Drawing dots on the ground summons trees.
Water Lily: Draw a circle on the water. A lily pad will appear that can support the weight of the user.
Vine: Draw a line between a Konohana Bud and yourself. You will be snagged and pulled onto the flower or into the tree by a vine.

Waterspout: Draw two lines going downwards, or draw a line between an open source of water and your target. With the former, divine rain cascades in a deluge, slowing any unholy force (once a day). With the latter, the water moves along the path you have drawn (at any time).
Galestorm: Draw three horizontal lines, or draw a swirly line. With the former, a tornado-like wind surrounds you and slices everything that gets too close with debris (once a day). With the latter, a gust of wind blows in the direction you drew the swirl (at any time).
Veil of Mist: Draw two horizontal lines. Time seems to slow, as everything around you is "intoxicated" by the pleasant mist. Only once a day no matter what, rate of failure.
Rejuvenation: Fill in a broken or blank spot. The object will be replaced or repaired.
Crescent: Draw a moon in the sky. In Vatheon, it will cause the moon to shine through the water a little bit brighter for a few minutes, if it's already out.
Catwalk: Draw a line up a wall. The wall becomes sticky and easy to climb.

In the event that we don't get a full sign-up of 12+ candidates, this is how we're going to distribute powers:

Battle Techniques: Power Slash, Cherry Bomb, Inferno, Thunder Storm, Blizzard
Balanced (battle & outside use) Techniques: Greensprout, Waterspout, Galestorm, Veil of Mist
Outside Use Techniques: Rejuvenation, Crescent, Catwalk

Ideally, of course, we will get plenty of people wanting to sign up. There will be plenty of sub-threads and assumptions in terms of who does what role, so there is little need to worry about slowing down any event threads. Still, do try to make an appearance!

Brush techniques and candidates are selected somewhat randomly - in the sign-up, you can make an appeal as to why your character would make an interesting Brush God! Comments are screened, and confirmation of which brush gods are which characters will be waiting until the 8th.

Her son. She loves all living things, as they are all her children, but there's a special fondness reserved in her heart for her direct descendant! She had to send him to Nippon so soon, but now she can come to know him. Before she was "updated", they were good buddies. Now that she remembers, the maternal instinct that was lacking from before is... slightly less lacking. Ammy is still not the best mother out there.

He's like a miniature Waka! But not! Knowing his fate makes interactions with him fairly sad, but it's very nice that he has a second chance, in Vatheon. He really is just like a kid, so it can be worrying even to Amaterasu at times, just how seriously he takes things. But... she knows she can take him babe hunting sometime.

Poor Equius. He can't handle anything that he cares for because he's too STRONG. Amaterasu can sympathize to a point; she can't always communicate with other people, so there are times where she can't tell someone what she really needs to tell them. It's this understanding of the double-edged sword that makes Amaterasu worry about him; she hopes she can help him realize how to best use his strength and find a way to compromise the downsides of it.

The angriest dude. But somehow it's hard to take that anger seriously. As a result, Amaterasu has already announced to him that she thinks of him as a friend (as is typical of Ammy, to be honest) and has happily engaged in a round of play-fighting with him. Lately, she's happy to provide the sort of calming presence he seems to need; she's never worried about him and trusts he'll do the responsible thing, and whether it's the absence of worrying or the trust, Karkat seems to appreciate it.

She's come to see him a lot more along the lines of an equal, in certain ways. Though Ammy isn't really a group leader, she does fight for good, and the impression she gets from Karkat is that he, too, has the best intentions. Which is something that Amaterasu has great respect for. Karkat seems to be struggling in his role, so Amaterasu is doing her best to share her experience with him, as well as her own resolve. She sees some of herself in him, in small ways. Not in the rampant self-hatred or any other manifestation of low or absent self-esteem because she is completely opposite in that regard, but in his ability to be pro-active in getting good things done, particularly amongst his group. She actually wants to introduce to him the idea of being even more open and helpful with people, because she thinks he would do really amazing good if he put the effort into it.

She has a lot of faith in him, and she thinks he is destined for great things. He might gripe and moan about how much shit goes wrong, but she still thinks that if he sticks through it, he'll make a difference. In a way, he did, when Yami descended on Vatheon's island. Karkat became the incarnate of Kabegami, and though it's a silly power, it's one perfectly suited to Karkat's resourcefulness. That whole thing made the bizarre communication between the two all the stranger, since Karkat is able to get a "gist" of what Ammy's thinking at any time.

A man from Nippon's future, but not of a "modern" era. He still rings familiar and true to Amaterasu, and after Yami descended, the faith he radiates is pure. Of all in Vatheon, he is the one who knows best how to pray to a god, and he knows her radiance best. Even though he expressed doubts in his faith before, that he has beholden the power of the gods in himself as the incarnate of Gekigami briefly has revived his faith in Amaterasu. That faith is what keeps her energized, in Vatheon, giving her great comfort and power like ages of old. Of course, though he is extremely formal and nervous, she much prefers him to be calm around her, since she behaves so casually, herself.

Mitsuru Kirijo

Ah, Mitsuru... what a beautiful woman! Cold and distant, despite that firey red hair. Ammy can only imagine how much Issun would want to paint her! Of course, Mitsuru has been very supportive of Ammy, in a few times of need.

Okumura Rin

A fun guy with some damn delicious food! He became the incarnate of Yomigami, the god of Restoration. Quite fitting, for him, since his "demon" side is very destructive! Now he's a very interesting concept of Yin-Yang (not that Ammy even knows that symbol, that doesn't hit her Nippon for a while yet). But, more importantly, he gives her tasty food and loves good food as much as she does.

Heeeeeey, pretty lady! She's always around Ammy, and provides very good company. Ammy doesn't know a whole lot about her, but that's okay. Rinoa's sweet personality is all Ammy needs to want to be around!

Yukari is a lovely lady! And Ammy appreciates lovely ladies. Since Yukari is actually quite a charming girl, as well, Ammy is perfectly content to fill the role of 'cute dog' to get some attention.
